Welcome to Murphy’s Pub

Murphy’s started with a small bar, a snug and a butcher’s shop. A long, long time ago, the sug area was reserved for the ladies as they were not permitted in the bar area. The butcher shop was located just inside the lounge, after some years the butcher shop was relocated and the bar and lounge were extended.

Recently the pub was refurbished, and the beer garden was developed. Now the beer garden (The Yard) boasts its own bar, that’s called An Sibin, which has a full bar, seating, TV and live entertainment every Saturday night – a great place to enjoy the indoor/ outdoor experience.

You can watch sports in the bar by the cosy fire, try your hand at a game of pool, or chill out and enjoy lively conversation with the locals.

If you are looking for a place to catch up with old friends, the lounge is the place to be.

History

Our history dates back to 1933 when Hugh Murphy first opened the doors to the public. Pub was passed down to his son George and wife Bridie Murphy. In 2008, Brendan Murphy, the third generation of the Murphy family, took over the pub's management.
